I had a thought just now while on the way to church. I took a different path, one which I have never taken before. It took me more time than usual. But then I realise, it's how I want to see it. I can be negative about it, that I have wasted some time taking a longer path, and that would have caused me some frustration. But I can also choose to have a positive attitude, because I have tried a new route, a new experience. "A route less travelled" for me. And I find myself at places which I never would have been if I have taken the usual way. I guess it's about attitude. I choose the latter.

Maybe some things in life are like that. The cup that's half-empty or half-full, how we would like to see it..

passion

I admire ppl who are passionate about life & who go for what is in their hearts. It can be a dream to do something, or to be somebody. It takes courage & I believe, great sacrifices most of the time. But they are true to what they believe in. They go for what they want. Now some of the things they do may not be the default path which most ppl would take, like you want to be a missionary to third-world countries, or be a prison warden or do volunteer work with charity organizations. Things like that. They are not as glam as some other jobs. But they choose it over other jobs.

Sometimes I think, if I can re-choose my career all over again, would I do what I am doing? Circumstances can be discouraging sometimes, but am I still passionate about it? That's what I need to know...

My friend once quoted, "Time is what life is make up of." I dunno who wrote this but I find it's so goood. For those who love life they won't want to waste time. And I don't want to waste time too. I guess I should start re-capturing what I want to do in life.

And do them.

time-wasters?

I find there are 2 things in modern life that are extremely time c-o-n-s-u-m-i-n-g

1) MSN. It is unbelievably common these days. Sure instant messenging is a quick & free way to exchange information. It is convenient to "talk" via typing if you are sitting at your desk. But sometimes I wonder why not just pick up the phone & talk if you have a lot to say... And then for some of us, it permeates so much into our lives, tracks our whereabouts with "status". I have a suggestion. Why not add a "toilet" status, it would be fun to see who forget to turn it off after using & has the toilet sign all day long.

2) Blogging. Ok it's your own page, it's quick, it's free again. But it sure takes time to write chunks of words. With my humble english it can take a hell lot more time than others. So one thing for sure, I won't be an author.

So here I'm putting on my blog that blogging is very time-consuming. Hahaha..! Yeah, and wasted some time again.

chocolate and the maid

I watched The Maid last night midnite show. So freaking busy with work that I didn't catch up on movies lately. As a matter of fact I see my colleagues & bosses more than seeing my family over the last 3 weeks so what do you think. Feel so deprived. Does no movies = no life in S'pore? Sounds a little pathetic I know... but anyway after 3 weeks of abstinence from movies, I finally decided I MUST WATCH A MOVIE, before I got buried by reports, projects & deadlines.

So we catched The Maid last night. Surprised that this movie is still showing because it has been for almost a month by now. It's supposed to be a horror movie, many ghosts coming out during the lunar 7th month of the chinese calendar & how this Philippino girl who came to work as a maid can see them. She also unveiled the mystery of why the previous maid of the family went missing. I find the show a bit draggy & trying all ways to scare ppl. Some scenes sure scared me by surprise, although I think my friend find them funny rather than scary... ok I not so high level yet lah.

That's The Maid. So how does chocolate come about? Charlie & the chocolate factory. We watched it about 3 weeks back. Was deciding at that time between watching Charlie, or The Maid. We decided on Charlie then. It turned out a good decision. The movie is good, I like it. It's funny, colorful, fantasical, and in my opinion, this movie has some very innovative ideas about future technologies. Didn't expect this supposedly children's show to be surprisingly good. I think I should also be watching the Corpse Bride... by Tim Burton again & Johnny Depp. :p

Hey, I feel lifted now after talking about movies! :) Hope I don't sound very carnal. If I do, well, I also don't care. Hehee

Just 2 lines

Work is so freaking busy these days I think my bosses have forgotten we are humans & expect us to produce lightning-fast results despite we have 10 things to do at the same time.

Feel like octopus sometimes. Or maybe worse off. At least octopus don't have bosses.

I WISH I CAN TELL MY BOSS
